That's a wrap on our June Business Networking Series
With a full house, stunning city views, and an outstanding line-up of speakers, the evening was a true celebration of connection, insight, and community.
We were privileged to hear from three remarkable Old Boys, each sharing their unique journeys and the lessons they've taken along the way.
Paul Salmeri ('99) spoke about how his passion for food became a pathway to connecting with people. From his early days at culinary school to launching and growing his business, Paul reminded us that while strategy matters, success ultimately comes down to people. His message was simple yet powerful: "Have a plan — but back the people."
Chris Webster ('99) brought honesty and vulnerability to the discussion as he reflected on what he described as his "mid-life awakening." By learning new skills and reshaping priorities, Chris discovered the importance of saying no to create space for saying yes to what truly matters. His reminder that surrounding yourself with great people allows you to become the best version of yourself resonated strongly with the audience.
Jarrod Kayler-Thomson rounded out the panel with passion and energy, reflecting on his involvement in the OQD program and the broader theme of purposeful growth. His story is a testament to stepping into new challenges, finding meaning in the process, and embracing opportunities that push us beyond our comfort zones.
The night began with another sharp and relevant market update from Sam Collins ('16), who continues to set the tone for the event with his clear insights and practical outlook.
None of this would have been possible without the support of EY, who generously hosted us in their beautiful space. From the sensational food to the unbeatable views, their hospitality set the stage for a truly memorable evening.
To our speakers — thank you for your honesty, generosity, and inspiration. To our guests — thank you for bringing the energy, curiosity, and camaraderie that make these events so worthwhile.
The Business Networking Series continues to prove its value as a place for Old Boys to connect, learn, and share.
