Oh! How things have changed! The Class of 1959 met for their 60-year reunion on a sunny September day, with morning tea and a tour of the School followed by lunch at the Claremont Yacht Club. Over 20 old boys joined the Principal, Mr Alan Jones, Head of Sport, Mr Anthony Lynch and Mr Conrad Scott from the School’s Army Cadet Unit, to learn of current school practice, during which many questions were raised and comparisons drawn to the days when school had only 300 boys in total. The tour took place in the Design and Technology and Art Departments, more commonly known as the Manual Arts in our day: Oh! How things have changed! After being loaded back onto the school bus, we enjoyed a day of reminiscing, good fellowship and an excellent meal at the club. Festivities carried into the late afternoon with promises to all meet up again, much sooner than the projected 70th reunion in 2029. All in attendance praised the organisation of Deb Hill and Sid Cox at the Alumni office for an extremely well organised and run event. Norm Sudlow View photo gallery here. |
