Message from the Alumni Office

It’s always a pleasure to shine the spotlight on the remarkable achievements and groundbreaking progress of members who are making a positive difference in our community. In this issue we share a glimpse of the inspirational efforts of old boys who are providing hope for the future. Professor Peter Leedman AO (’74) is leading a research team to explore how augmented reality can be used to print organs; cycling enthusiasts are raising funds to fight cancer and Aiden Albert (’12) is a role model to school students in Broome after becoming a Police Officer. Thank you for your contributions, we encourage you to please keep them coming!

Old Boys' Annual Lunch

Over 160 guests attended the Old Boys’ Annual Lunch to catch-up with friends and learn of revolutionary changes in medicine presented by Professor Peter Leedman AO (’74). Sharing his vision for the future, Professor Leedman described extraordinary advances in technology that will continue to transform health through biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence and robotics. A special thank you to both Professor Leedman for his insights and Zac Vinten (’11) for steering the event and MC’ing on the day. Click here to view the image gallery.

Class of 1981 - 40 Year Reunion

A fabulous opportunity to catch up with friends from 40 years ago and to enjoy renewing friendships. The night went too quickly and I would encourage those who couldn’t make it to put in the diary as soon as the dates are released for the next reunion. Apologies from many interstate and overseas and special thanks to the many driving from the country up to 1000km away. Click here to view the image gallery. Rob Cullingford ('81)
Class of 1976 - 45 Year Reunion

There was a great turn out to the 45 Year Reunion for the Class of ’76, despite many regrets from those class mates locked down in distant places. A playlist from the 70’s kept the afternoon upbeat, while flashback photos and a quiz provided entertainment. A special thanks to the organising committee for their efforts to reach their class mates and provide a special event. Click here to view the image gallery.

CCGS PSA Chess Win

In 2010 CCGS was crowned the winners of the inaugural PSA Chess Tournament and have been undefeated ever since! Recently the School celebrated a 12th consecutive PSA Chess title, proudly continuing the legacy first established by Christopher Doukakis (’12), Liam Kearney (’13), Matthew Wozniuk (’12) and Vaughan Greenberger (’13). Playing Chess at CCGS has a long history and continues to be a fiercely contested interhouse challenge for current students.

Lachie Bisset ('08) and The Endeavor Project

Proprietor of the North Street Store, Lachie Bissett (’08), shared his experience of business success with Year 6 CCGS and MLC students as part of the new ‘Endeavor’ project. Both schools invited an alumni representative to speak of their entrepreneurial achievements including branding, production and qualities required to differentiate yourself in a crowded market. Thank you, Lachie, for your insightful presentation on the remarkable growth of your business over the last four years. Lachie has plans to expand his business. Given Lachie’s attitude towards rising above obstacles and his curious interest to explore new boundaries, we have no doubt that Lachie will be a success. Lachie, we wish you well in future.
Farewell Prep Teacher Mrs Sallyann Lee

Mrs Sallyann Lee has been a special member of the CCGS community since 1990, offering her heart and soul to students of the Preparatory School for over 30 years. Do you remember Mrs Lee as a teacher? If so, we’d love to capture your reflections and best wishes as a special farewell tribute. Please consider sharing a message in word (50 words or less) or a video snippet (20-30 second maximum) over the coming few weeks. Contributions should be directed to Brooke Siegmann, bsiegmann@ccgs.wa.edu.au
